Statement of Faith

Statement of Faith

We believe that the Bible, the Old and New Testaments, is the Word of God — authoritative, fully inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

We believe that there is one true and living God, existing eternally in three Persons – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit – who are equal, indivisible, divinely perfect and of one essence.

We believe God, the Father, is infinite and perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love.We believe that He is a personal spirit Who concerns Himself lovingly and mercifully in the affairs of men and women and that He hears and answers prayer.

We believe that Jesus Christ is God’s only begotten son, Lord of heaven and earth, fully man and fully God. He became incarnate by the power of the Holy Spirit through the miraculous virgin birth, lived a sinless life, and through His suffering and death on the cross, voluntarily atoned for the sins of mankind. He was buried and, on the third day, arose bodily from the grave, and in time, ascended into heaven to be seated at the right hand of God the Father, where He is Lord of all and makes intercession for His people.

We believe the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity, convicts sinners and draws them to Christ. We believe He indwells, illuminates and empowers all who believe in Jesus Christ and regenerates and sanctifies them.He intercedes on behalf of believers and and is an abiding helper, teacher and guide.

We believe that all mankind, made male and female, were created in the image of God. We believe mankind is fallen, corrupted through the fall of the first Adam, when he sinned by disobeying God and incurring for all of mankind not only physical death, but spiritual death, which is separation and alienation from God. We believe the nature of all mankind is corrupted, and no one is able to please God without the regeneration and rebirth by the Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ assumed himself the penalty of death for all sin.He will come again to the earth, personally and visibly, to raise the dead, judge mankind and establish His Reign. We believe that faith alone in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord enables us to spend eternity with Him, and rejection of Christ results in eternal separation from God with its attendant suffering.

We believe that salvation is a gift of God, granted through God’s free grace and not from any works of human effort. Christ’s righteousness is imputed by God to those who put their faith alone in Christ for their salvation.

We believe that the Church consists of all who have trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ as their savior, regardless of denominational beliefs. Christ is the head of the Church, which is His Body and His Bride.

We believe that Christian men and women should live for the glory of God and the well-being of others.  We believe Christians should seek to grow in Christlikeness, realizing for themselves and for others the full stature of maturity in Christ.
